We are very pleased announce that Meika’s Safehouse Bird Rehabilitation & Re-Homing Centre will be at the 2024 Mom, Pop & Tots Fair, featured at the Edmonton Woman’s Show on January 20 & 21 at the Edmonton EXPO Centre! Jump into the world of birds and meet all sorts of colourful characters – both their plumage and their personalities! This is a great way for both you and your little ones to learn about birds and interact with these magnificent creatures!
Meika’s Safehouse is a registered charitable organization whose purpose is to rehabilitate and provide a safe and loving environment for any bird in need. They work primarily with parrots, but welcome all species of companion or pet birds. As their desire is to see the birds that leave their care succeed in their new home they assess each bird and start with training and socialization as appropriate. Because of the level of intelligence birds possess, they are often under significant emotional stress when they are relinquished, even if they were not abused.
